okay ye u guys saw the “ I drew ages ago” in the title but it’s actually just like one month ago or smthn. Yeah so this thing is what I drew when I was in my pajamas and on my bed so it’s not really u know ‘detailed’? It’s just not like the others okay it’s no like I put effort. There r 2 reasons I drew ziz. 1st reason: people just pay more attention to my Balinese arts more and I want attention hehe 2nd reason: It’s almost nyippi in Bali so people draw Ogoh Ogohs. Now if ur wondering wt I’m talking abt its okay because most people who don’t live in Bali don’t know,so don’t worry ur not the only one.
so basically nyippi is like when everyone doesn’t use lights and electricity for 1 whole day… it’s often called the “ day of silence.” So on this day no electricity, no work, no entertainment or travel, no big activities happen just silence in the house feeling the darkness of earth. Well that’s what I know, they say that it helps clean the negative energy or smthin.oh yeah it’s to trick off the evil monsters to thinking that the island is empty so that they dont eat them and also idk reflect life or smthn. Now the night before nyippi is where ogoh ogohs kick in hehe. THEY SET PEOPLES HOUSES ON FIRE AND RUN AWAY! No of course I’m just joking. The night before nyippi is completely different from nyippi. They have large parades and have parties like crazy with the ogoh ogoh statues like it’s their best friends! How cool! After nyippi they meet families and forget their mistakes and just start a brand new year! I love have they celebrate this thing it’s just cool!
although I cannot live a life without electricity.. just think abt it… no light, no wifi, no fans, nothing just emptiness! So mom and dad planned to go on a campfire trip that day! We’re going to Ubun to stay out.i know ur probably thinking I’m just weird thinking that this parade is cool and not participating?! How rude or smthn like that but sry guys I just CANNOT LIVE A SINGLE DAU WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. SORRY I APOLOGIZE.
