today I gave shiitake, her poop tray and her cage a wash, and after I washed shiitake, I let her outside in the sun to dry, well as you know the 11oclock late morning sun is super strong. so I usually I put her in noon or late morning sun to make it easier for her to dry and not let her catch a cold. And I always put her outside on the grass.
Today with her leg getting better, shes more active, but that gave us a problem cuz when I went to see her on the little field, she wasn’t there and when I checked the door, there she was, sitting beside my shoe, on her poo. Little poo wants to get in 🙁 I actually feel kinda sad for her becuz before she hurt her leg, we used to put her in the room with a little sock diaper, but gradually as shiitake got bigger the sock looked tighter. so that’s why we put her outside again for another few weeks, and she used to always sit by my shoe and in front of the door begging to go in. Then we tried putting her whole cage into the room but then we noticed we had an allergic reaction to the duck air trapped inside the house so we tried our best but we had to put her outside, by herself. :c then after her legs almost healed, she still remembers that time when she was free in the house, and she still remembers my stinky feet smell and she just always stays there, no matter what happens. She’s always there, in front of the door, beside the shoes.
i feel so bad for her, and hopefully after she becomes a full grown duck size, we can use the adult masks to make her diapers. and after we move our house, we will have a bigger space for her to play with and we might even buy her a partner. I just feel like if I was shiitake, I might just feel like my owner doesn’t want me or doesn’t even think that I exist. 🙁 I feel like I’m not a good duck mom.
She pooped everywhere td which makes it even more annoying becuz now every day we have to clean the car parking place ( the place in front of the door and where all the shoes are kept ) well me and mom already tried our very best. My mom always supports me and helps me no matter if she thinks ducks are a little bit stressful or not ♡ love my parents♡♡♡
btw its impossible to potty train a duck becuz it doesn’t have the muscles to control its waste 🙁 that’s the only sad thing about birds and ducks
Just random fun facts:
- dont touch a ducks back a lot becuz this is what ducks do when they are mating ( kinda wierd I think )
- dont touch a ducks butt cuz it will feel uncomfortable
- the best place to touch is their head, cheeks, breast and neck
- if a duck bites you lightly it means that they enjoy or like you ♡
- if a duck hisses ( ducks can surprisingly hiss lol ) or bites u hard or goes away, that means it wants to be alone or doesn’t want to be bothered/touched ikr ducks are sometimes very annoying hehe 😛
- if u slow blink with an animal ( including ducks ) when they are resting or relaxed, it means that youre saying I love them~ muamuamua to my shiitake
- ducks poop a lot 😀 hahrharhar

this is shiitake as a little baby just a few days of buying her, right after her unnamed friend passed away 🙁 this is her in her old cardboard box still being scared of me hehe as u can see, she grew up a lot! 🤣 Her breast feather used to be milky yellow but now it’s completely white and even has a little white dot on her tummy!
btw fun fact Abt shiitakechanchan! We bought shiitakechan at a local street, and there were a lot of baby ducks that were just a few days old! When we sed we would buy it, the woman who was selling just grabbed a basket and gave 2 random weak looking ducks to us, in fact, all the ducks except shiitake looked weak like they were not going to make it. So I said I wanted to choose one, and I chose shiitake and a random duck 🦆. It was that random duck that I chose that didn’t make it. Ye so me mom and dad all think that shiitake was there for advertising and the woman didn’t expect to sell shiitake 😅
were lucky I guess when we bought shiitakechan, she was so scared of us lol
2 days ago I was holding shiitake to measure her height btw she is 40cm, without stretching her neck, then her little claws are so sharp that she literally scratched me on the wrist and it bleeded 😭 hopefully it doesn’t get infected
